Help for Heroes

On Monday 26^th June 2023, Avocet House Care Home planned a fundraiser afternoon to raise money for our heroes.

Help for Heroes is the largest charity supporting Army Veterans. The charity offers vital support to those who need it regardless of when or where they served. For some veterans the war continues long after they served, both physically and mentally. The charity provides well needed support to both the veterans and their families.

To help raise money for this cause, team members were asked to join in the fun by dressing in fancy dress and donating and members of the public were also invited in to join us for the afternoon of fun! With live entertainment, light refreshments and a ‘through the ages disco.’

One loved one commented ‘I have just come away from a wonderful afternoon listening to a beautiful voice and dancing with the most amazing people, they are so lovely, thank you.’

It was fantastic to spend the afternoon enjoying each other’s company whist also being able to offer our support.

Avocet House is always willing to go above and beyond to support charities close to our hearts, for us some of our residents have served over the years and this is our way of being able to give back.
