8 June 2023
On the 7th of June 2023, Avocet House Care Home celebrated national chocolate ice cream. The day was initially started by an ice cream manufacturer, in a bid to increase chocolate ice cream sales.
Today we celebrate the occasion, as another excuse to eat ice cream.
Avocet House residents celebrated the occasion by spending the afternoon in our dining room enjoying all things chocolate!
We asked our residents if they liked ice cream and after getting mixed responses, our catering team came up with the idea of smoothies.
One resident commented ‘These are really nice and do not hurt my teeth like ice cream would do.’
Our catering team made the smoothies adding fruit and when we let our residents know this, they were keen to see if they could taste the fruit. One resident commented ‘You would not believe there was any fruit in there, but it made the smoothie taste amazing.’
It was an afternoon enjoyed by all.
Here at Avocet House, we like to encourage our residents to take part in varied activities and events. We are proud of the dedicated lifestyle team who arrange innovative weekly planners to keep our residents happy and entertained.
Avocet House located within the new Quadrant development in Boston, is welcoming new residents. If you or a loved one would like to find out more, please contact our team on 01205 336897.
